The latest EKOS Poll suggests Green Party support is reaching significant ground in BC, Ontario and Quebec, while maintaining solid support in the other regions. In Ontario Alberta and Quebec we are leading the NDP, if this trend continues we will be looking at bringing in our first seats in the next election, but we need all our supporters between elections to come out on voting day and be our committed supporters and VOTE GREEN, and bring home the Seats the Green Party Deserves. In the last election the Green Party, garnered almost 1 million votes and got no seats but the separatist block got about as many votes and over 50 seats. An injustice for sure but mathematically probable when our vote is truly national and spread across Canada while the Bloc’s is concentrated in one province, this is compounded by the fact that roughly half our supporters appear to either not vote or switch votes on election day! Next time around we implore you, vote your conscience vote for the party that truly represents your beliefs and VOTE GREEN, if all our supporters go to the poles next time out and VOTE GREEN we will double our vote and win many ridings, not just one or two.

Choose hope, Vote Green!

The Green Party of Canada is committed to nurturing families and communities through integrated policies that focus on the welfare of the child, starting with prenatal nutrition all the way to affordable housing and accessible post secondary education.

We believe we must stop designing our communities around the car and start designing them around families and children. There are no easy solutions. We have to address the multi-layered problems facing families through new, innovative fiscal, labour and social policies.

We support:

a real national childcare plan

income-splitting for families

a Charter right to clean air and water

support for family farms

flex hours for working parents

When our government is at its best, it represents all of us and brings us together to accomplish things we cannot accomplish alone. Our parliament should be a model of statesmanship and cooperation, working for the good of all Canadians. It should deal creatively and constructively with issues and spend taxpayers’ money prudently. MPs should be elected through a fair voting system that ensures parties get a share of seats in Parliament that is equal to their share of popular vote. Canadians should be proud of their government and trust that it is acting in their best interests.

We support:

make every vote count

restore power to your local MP

bring transparency to government

connect policy with Canadian values — not with lobbyists’ interests

OTTAWA– A new poll conducted by Angus Reid Strategies shows that 73% of Canadians are in favour of including Elizabeth May in the debates, with support strongest in British Columbia.

The Green Party of Canada is still waiting for an answer from Canada’s broadcast consortium as to whether Leader Elizabeth May will be invited to the next round of federal election debates. The Greens sent a formal letter to the broadcast consortium asking for confirmation that May will be allowed into the debates, but no answer has been forthcoming. More…

Canada has an opportunity to shift from an economic model based on the unsustainable exploitation of our resources to a sustainable and resilient economic model based on conservation and renewable resources, a model that advances the common good and ensures quality of life for all Canadians. Canada can meet this challenge by investing in innovative solutions that are part of a comprehensive vision for our country – a vision rooted in Canadian values. Responsible budgeting, forward-looking investing, and a concern for those who are least fortunate among us are the principles that guide our economic planning.

We support:

no more grey-industry bail-outs

income-splitting for families

lower payroll and income taxes

higher taxes on polluting industries
